"This is a silly situation to be in"

About: Adult community health services / Musculoskeletal physiotherapy service

(as a service user),

I got a letter 5 days ago from Somerset Partnership about my physiotherapy at Bridgewater. It says if I don't make an appointment, I'll get kicked off the list. Since I got the letter I've been ringing through and all I get is all agents are busy, try again later.

I'm 87 years old with a terribly bad knee, and I just want some help. This is a silly situation to be in.

Hello there,

I'm so sorry to hear of the difficulties that you are having making contact with our physiotherapy team and that understandably, this is causing you concern and angst.

We are experiencing high levels of staff sickness at the moment which is affecting our ability to answer the calls in a timely way and to sort out appointments. Please do keep trying the number as we are working hard to support the team with additional temporary staff whilst we are in this challenging period. Alternatively, if you are still having problems, please call the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 01278 432022 - you can leave a message or speak to them and they will get in touch with the service for you.

We are confident the situation will improve soon but if you are still experiencing difficulties, please do post on here again or get in touch with us via the telephone number above.

Hope this gets sorted for you very soon.

Emma
