"Dr in Casualty."

About: Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust

Over the last 2 years my husband has been in great pain in his hip and various medical people we have seen have given a different diagnosis each time we saw them.

A few weeks ago after requesting an x-ray from our new GP practice as he was limping really badly it has finally shown to be AVN.

Eureka. Now we got at last referred for an MRI.

We were fortunate enough to get a cancellation.

When he returned from work tonight he was in so much pain he had reached braking point. I said get cleaned up and I am taking you to Casualty.

There we were seen quite quickly even though the waiting area was choco a block full.

The doctor we saw was wonderful. Called up the result on the screen, confirmed it and has now arranged for him to attend a clinic urgently. We are seeing someone in 2 days time and a great black cloud has been lifted from us.

Thank you for your prompt attention doctor. You are a star.

Hi, thank you for writing about your husband's recent experience at one of our A&E departments. I am pleased to learn that your husband was seen efficiently by the team and he had been referred to the right clinic for further treatment. I will ensure that your feedback is passed on to the A&E team. Kind regards, Toby Lewis, Chief Executive.
