"Feeling suicidal but went to the hospital instead"

About: Hammersmith & Fulham Mental Health Unit

(as a service user),

I went there for suicidal thoughts but all they cared about was getting me out. The psychiatrist done nothing to help and says-I’m addicted to drugs- in the assessment letter I received even though I don’t take drugs every day, week or month for that matter.

I never said illicit drugs are major issues in my life but that where I live and how I live are major issues to my life. they didn’t state once that I wanted to kill myself due to my medication but instead blamed it on  what I took before when I felt like I was really going to kill my self. I’m off that medication now and if I do want to kill myself im not going back to the hospital. only people that actually wanted to help was the nurses.

Dear Dexter119

I am sorry to read about your experience at Hammersmith and Fulham Mental Health Unit. I would also like to apologise for the very late response but I wanted to let you know that I have passed this onto the management team to ensure they are aware of the feedback.

Best wishes

Sara
