I recently had the occasion to attend an outpatient clinical at Gartnavel General Hospital.
As I had travelled for over 2 and a half hours, prior to going to the clinic I went to use the toilet located beside the WRVS Canteen. I thought the state of this facility was extremely poor.
The toilet bowl and wash hand basin were clean but the floor and tilework were dirty. I thought the dirt on the tile ledge was tile cement, but on wetting a paper towel and running it along the ledge, the black dirt came off on the towel. I am in no way blaming the cleaner assigned to this toilet as she is obviously keeping the bowl and wash hand basin clean in spite of the odds.
This facility needs to be deep steam cleaned and only then will the cleaner be able to keep it up to an acceptable standard. No wonder there are hospital acquired infections.
