I was referred by my GP in January 2017, and although I had a telephone interview fairly quickly, I had to wait until March 2018 before I had my first appointment. The woman I spoke to treated me with respect and was warm and friendly and answered all my questions. And I was very happy with the service. My main concern at the time was "coming out" at work and I was told that I shouldn't do so until I started hormones, as that would be discussed at my next appointment with a doctor in six months time. I walked away feeling absolutely fantastic that I was finally getting somewhere.
However the six months and come and gone, and I've heard nothing. Hiding who I am from my employer/boss has been extremely difficult these last few months, as they have began to notice how different I've began to look; and my mental state has been all over the place as I try to make excuses for my hair getting longer, and the make up, and the androgynous clothing.
I know the waiting times at the clinic are long, but could you please give me a clue as to how long?
