"AMU staff."

About: Wexham Park Hospital

One particular nurse was the light of my husband’s stay in the AMU. The first day Monday 22nd , he was the only nurse on duty looking after 20+ patients. He was forever cheerful and had time for everyone and always with a smile on his face. It was an impossible state of affairs but he managed admirably

I was very sorry when my husband was moved to Ward 5 a very different atmosphere altogether although it did improve when the female nurses were on duty.

Thank you very much for writing a review, I am concerned that you felt that there was only one nurse for 20+ patients? I have managed AMU and we would never let one nurse look after 20 patients? we have safe staffing levels that are discussed at organised daily meetings to ensure we have the level of staff that ensures all our patients are safe. If you could give me further information I will investigate this further please email me on fhft.patientexperience@nhs.net ? I am glad ward 5 improved and I hope you felt the staffing levels on ward 5 ensured there was always a nurse on hand to look after your husband.
