Had gastroscopy and flexible sigmoidoscopy yesterday. Previous gastroscopy 3 years ago was traumatic, despite sedation. Yesterday I was listened to by all staff, and had a bit extra. Aware of everything, especially the nurse's voice which helped so much, and while not pleasant, it was a much better experience.
The sigmoidoscopy was not as bad as imagined (sedated yes for gastroscopy, but without would be fine).
From the moment I arrived, to being handed back over to my husband, I was given the best care, by every single staff member.
Thank you.
