"poor poeple skills"

About: St Lukes Hospital / Neurology

I have attended two appointments for Neurology at this hospital now and have had the same problem both times.

The initial reception desk and clinical nurses were all lovely in explaining where i needed to go or what was going to happen.

The problem starts with the Neurologists themselves. they do not seem to have any people skills what so ever so much so that my consultant went as far as to note my emotional state on my record after my initial consoltation knowning fine well i had been suffering for nearly a year.

This was only made apparent to me by the second Neurologist (by accident i might add) who was performing a painful nerve conduct study on me and said this was put on the notes as they saw i was visably disressed due to the pain or this procedure, they also added people 'do not get upset in the initial consoltation'

May i make a suggestion and have your entire neurology department run by Cats? or some other more usueful creature?

Whoever is responcible for feeding this information back to the Neurologists at the hospital tell thiem this; You are a Neurologist not a psycologist so stick to your supposed specialist field of work before making judgement regarding a patients mental health situation as you literally have no idea what their going through. Even if I am lucky enough to get a diagnosis, I believe they woudlnt have the time of day to explain to me what it was to mean. My initial consultant couldnt get me out of the room quick enough as 'there was no reason for my symptoms'.

Unfortunatly as with Gps and Hospitals alike now, the medical profesionals at st. Lukes seem to think they know beetter that the patient with the problem.

No point in asking anything before they have pushed you to the brink with their tests.

I wouldnt be going back even if the consultant need to see me about worry-some results.
