"Fantastic - a traumatic birth made into a positive..."

About: Chelsea & Westminster Hospital

What I liked

I gave birth to my son here in May 2011. I was admitted as an emergency case with late diagnosed pre-eclampsia. During my labour i became very ill developing eclampsia. I was never out of care of the obstetrician, i don't remember much of what happened to me but i felt safe and i knew they were taking good care of me. I had to stay in the high dependency unit for a couple of days and then the post natal ward for 5 days after that. Yes it wasn't great being stuck in the hospital but the staff were amazing, i became good friends with my midwife who was with me when i was admitted and i still see her for coffee! The doctors ensured i was 100% healthy before discharging me with all the appropriate medicine and instructions for aftercare.

I can't speak highly enough of C&W - my birth experience was highly traumatic and scary but they made it a positive experience despite everything which happened to me.
