The Royal Cornwall Hospital seem to take a lot of stick when official inspections take place but I can only speak about the care of my husband following diagnosis of cancer.
From his initial diagnosis to the end of his treatment, I can only describe the staff involved as professional, caring, and compassionate from meeting the Oncology Team, through to the Headland Unit and the Chemo nurses, to the staff of the Radiotherapy Department.
Despite all of them always being extremely busy, they maintained a lovely, calm atmosphere and were always very patient with all those they were dealing with.
My husband's treatment isn't totally done with as he will need further visits before he can have a scan to find out if he's beaten the dreaded 'C' but Royal Cornwall's overall Oncology service including support from the Cove is fantastic and I can't believe that they were think of moving it 'up the line'.
