"Nursing Staff"

About: Stoke Mandeville Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as a relative),

Whilst visiting a family member this week who was in ward 2 Stoke Mandeville Hospital, I was taken aback by staff who were all at the nurses desk and 4 of them were on their mobile phones as it was at least an hour until their shift ended surely they can find something else to do. I do not get paid to sit around and use my phone at work, this is the type of thing that gives the NHS a bad name. These staff members did not seem very caring.

Dear Appalled relative

Thank you for taking the time to leave your comments on this website.

I am sorry to read of the problems you have experienced in ward 2 at Stoke Mandeville Hospital when you visited a family member and four nurses were on their mobile phones.

I would be very grateful if you could contact the Patient Advice & Liaison Service (PALS) on 01296 316042 to talk about your specific experience.

In the meantime I will share your comments with the ward manager.

Kind regards

Patient Advice & Liaison Service
