About: Kirkholt Medical Practice

Recently trying to book in for an appointment is a nightmare. Can't phone at 8am for an appointment the same day anymore unless you're practically dying!!! 2 weeks for an appointment. Receptionist pretending to be a doctor asking for all the symptoms. This surgery use to be amazing and caring......now of that there anymore.

Thank you for your comment. I am sorry that you have struggled to book appointments.

Our telephones are very busy from 8am until approximately 10am and it can sometimes take a while before your call is answered.

We have a small number of appointments that become available at 8am each morning. These appointments are for acute problems, such as sore throats, migraines, sudden pain, etc. A routine appointment should be booked for conditions such as long-term pain, on-going skin problems or any other long-term illness.

Our Receptionists are not clinically trained but the GP does ask that they take a note of the patient's symptoms so that we can ensure you are booked with the correct person. The Receptionists follow a protocol that advises them if you are in need of an appointment of if you can be signposted to another service.

If you wish to discuss this further please contact the Practice Manager.
