"This is the NHS at its best"

I visited the Dermatology Dept. today and was met with a friendly smile and efficient check in from reception staff. After a very brief wait a nurse collected me, took me to a consulting room and explained what was going to happen next. After a student had taken a history he returned with the consultant who discussed what her plan for treatment was. I then went into a second waiting room and after another brief wait went into surgery where I had three minor operations on nose, back and arm. The trio of a nurse and two doctors were professional, efficient and friendly - inspiring my absolute confidence as they cut, sewed and cauterised me. Afterwards I returned to the waiting room where I was offered tea and biscuits and the aftercare procedure was explained to me.

The whole experience was exemplary and if I were running the department i would feel extremely proud.
