My elderly father was admitted to the medical admissions unit via a and e with respiratory difficulties and dementia. Because of the dementia I was able to stay with him overnight and most of the day, or other family members.(such a relief). Consequently I witnessed the amount of care given in the 48 hours, plus the heavy workload the staff experienced. I was very impressed with the standard of nursing care from all levels of staff, the dignity afforded to dad, the gentle explanations and the help with washing and personal care. They were also very kind to me, at a very distressing time for me. As a nurse of many years experience myself, often I find that standards appear to have dropped, but this was definitely not the case here. Thank you all.
"MAU. Excellent service"
