After referral by my GP I underwent the series of tests in Urology that demonstrated I needed radical treatment for Prostate Cancer. At every step the consultants and the specialist nursing staff kept me infomed of the next steps, sent appointment details, etc in a thoroughly professional and informative manner.
I did have to chase MRI results at one point but that was the only time I detected a slip in communication.
The operation I required by a team specialist was quick and efficient. Very friendly treatment on the day of the Op.
My recovery time from it has been good. I only needed one night in a hospital ward and the care was good. I like the small 4 person wards incidentally. I nearly drowned in tea.......
I am starting the post-op follow up but I’m finding the specialist nursing staff support first rate. They were also excellent in advising me while I was managing a catheter immediately after the Op. The catheter was the least fun part but I’d been well advised on how to manage it and during the working week I could phone with queries, which I did twice.
