"Visit"

I was so nervous and embarrassed attending Guildford clinic but was utterly surprised when greeted by the receptionist who was very kind and sensitive. As I had never been before and she could see how nervous I was and the fact that I didn’t want to say what was wrong out loud. She spent time with me talking through the form I felt quickly relaxed as i could have been. I was at the clinic from 11am-3pm though I didn’t mind the wait as could see how clearly busy they were so waiting did not worry me as I was grateful to of been seen. I was then called to see the consultant who treated me with dignity, kindness and respect and did not judge me in anyway and listened to what i had to say in great depth the appointment was not rushed and immediately made me feel at ease and reassured I did not know what to expect as never hoped to ever have to attend. The consultant ensured I was given the Right information and felt that the appointment was provided in a person centred way tailored to my concern and treated me as an individual throughout my visit at the clinic. I was treated so well that I asked to see the same consultant at my next available appointment but reassured me that all staff at this clinic would treat me in the same way. I was then called in for a blood test by another lady who again treated me as individual chatted and laughed with me and was constantly asking if i was ok. I was extremely grateful to have been seen by all staff on the day and I can not express enough how much they deserve to be recognised. It’s hard enough to come forward to this clinics in any situation and to have been able to experience this kind of person centred care was outstanding. If any clinic needs to see an example or enhance there patients experiences then Guildford clinic has certainly set the bar high. THANK YOU once again. If I could offer constructive criticism it would be for a better hygienical toilet facilities to be at a better standard when I had to use the facilities there were wrappers from sample packages on the floor and on window ledges although because the clinic was over stretched as clearly could see ( through no thought of their own) with waiting people to be seen.
