"Empathy from continence service"

About: Wellington Community Hospital / Continence Services

(as a service user),

I had a lovely appointment with Michelle earlier this month. She was very sweet and understanding, this was an embarrassing topic for me but she made it very natural and easy to talk about. I took a friend with me who is a nurse, to help explain the medical issues, she said how good Michelle was at explaining what needed to be done and how natural she made the conversation feel.

Strange as it sounds I enjoyed the appointment, at one point Michelle took hold of my hand to reassure me. I appreciated the careful listening and understanding of what I was going through and was comforted by the knowledge that things would get better even thought it would take some time.

Thank you Michelle.

Dear Charaye 83

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave feed back on your recent appointment with Michelle in the Continence Clinic at Wellington Community Hospital.

It is lovely to hear that you found the consultation with Michelle so reassuring and felt able to talk openly about the difficulties you have been experiencing.

As you say continence can be an embarrassing topic to talk about, but hopefully your comments will encourage others to come forward to help.

We will make sure that your feedback is passed on to Michelle.

Thank you again.

Hello Charaye83,

I just wanted to say how lovely it was of you to take the time to let us know about your recent appointment with our continence team and how the appointment with Michelle went for you.

I am so pleased to hear that you found it so reassuring and beneficial and most importantly, that you felt listened to with empathy and compassion from Michelle. Catherine, the service manager will be making sure that Michelle sees your story and I know that she will be as delighted to hear that she made a difference to you as Catherine and I were.

With best wishes,

Emma
