"Coronary artery bypass"

About: Derriford Hospital

After a stent intervention I was advised a bypass would be a better option. After meeting the surgeon I agreed to go ahead. The operation was carried out in May after one cancellation due to intensive bed shortage. I was only in for 5 days. I can only say that the care and skills that I received at this department were second to none. I have since recovered to a level of wellness I had before my event, although I did have another admission for internal bleeding caused by aspirin and platelet medication.

Colette Wells, Service Line Cluster Manager for Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery, has responded to say:

We are always pleased to hear that patients have had a good experience when undergoing surgery in the Cardiothoracic department, and that you have recovered to a level of wellness prior to your illness.

Thank you for taking the time to feedback and your comments will be shared within the department.
