I find it really annoying that as a night worker I can't just call in to the surgery and make an appointment. Instead I have to break my sleep pattern in order to make a call that takes forever to get through to someone only to be asked by a receptionist what is wrong with me. Firstly it's private and confidential and secondly I doubt they are remotely qualified to help anyway. I recently called in to the practise to make an appointment but the receptionist even though they had been informed I work nights offered to book me a night time appointment but yet couldnt make me one for the following week????? I was then offered the option of making an appointment online.....WHY when I'm stood there in person having made the effort to get an appointment???? This really is poor and I don't wish to use online booking facilities due to breaches of security issues thankyou very much. Just tell me what the receptionists actually do if they don't take appointment bookings??? Get rid of them and just have a queuing system and save money for what good they are. Totally disgusted that as a tax payer I have to jump through hoops to get to see a doctor whereas a dropout,non-working drug addict would be seen at the drop of a hat. If I weren't concerned about something like I am then I wouldn't be wasting my time or yours by wanting an appointment in the first place. Something needs to change and quick!!!!
