"My medical abortion experience at 7 weeks Marie..."

About: Marie Stopes International Essex Centre

The staff at the clinic were very friendly and reassuring. They make you feel comfortable and talk you through all the options to make sure you are ready. For the medical one you have about 6 pills orally and 4 vaginally that you insert yourself at the clinics toilets. After the tablets you can go home and in about an hour or two it gradually gets extremely painful like period pain X10, I was physically sick many time and back and fourth on the toilet passing lots of thick blood clots and feeling like you need to pee or poo when you can’t. It was so hard to even move it is that painful. The pain will make you question going to A+E but believe me it is normal and will stop within a few hours. Ibuprofen is the best to take and the main pain will pass within about 8 hour and then there will still be milder pain for a few days so I recommend being somewhere comfortable and having someone there with you on the first day. At the end of it you feel so much better and the pregnancy symptoms start to go away
