"Massive improvement in MH services"

Previously been really disappointed with this SPA team. No help and got told there's nothing they could do. However, i understand at the time it was a new service and clearly things have changed quickly. Very recently had an appointment with a Consultant Psychiatrist and Psychologist out of nowhere. It shows you're not forgotten about. I've started a treatment which others have said they won't do in the past and it's working now. They've read about my history, told me things even i forgot about and asked good questions, different ones to the bog standard ones all others ask and have taken action which i wern't expecting due to the types of conditions i have. They understand me and for the first time in nearly a decade i've never been so happy with the clinicians who are dealing with me. I'm actually looking forward to my next appointment. So knowledgable, professional and actually speak to me in a casual way rather than the usual formal manner i guess most are used to. The two i've spoken to are a huge credit to MH services in Sheffield, it's a shame this professional quality can't be cloned all over the U.K. They really are a unique pair who care about MH and its services. I'm confident my future has a good outlook now. I'd also like to thank the receptionists who are fantastic with myself and others and update me with appointments etc better than anyone else could. It's like having a personal PA they are that good. Overall it's a team who really care and are working their hardest to make a system work with struggles with cuts etc they've had. All i can say is give this team a go, they're trying their best to help everyone with rising numbers of patients, it may take time but i believe they will help and personally this team will show other MH teams how things should be done with success. Work with them and things will improve massively and quickly. I was reluctant with this new first appointment but i'm so glad i went. On another note, the place is spotless, well maintained and cleanliness is bang on. The cleaner herself smiles at you and is pleasant enough i actually thought she was a CPN or something. The whole staff is a great team. Extremely happy compared to my previous thoughts at the beginning of the year.

As you may be aware the Single Point of Access and Emotional Wellbeing Service became operational in December of last year. We have, and continue to face, challenges but are doing our best to address these and use the experience to develop further. Positive feedback continues to motivate members of the team in their provision of a caring and compassionate service. As you have noted this includes all those who take on a variety of roles within the service.

I am pleased that you feel you have received a good service and have passed your feedback on to all members of the team.
