I had a really positive experience of mental health care in the community by the Home Treatment West Team in Sheffield. I had a severe relapse in my mental health condition and was able to be treated at home by their team. This really benefitted my recovery. I feel empowered that I was able to get the right help quickly and actually avoided an admission to psychiatric hospital. The staff supported me to recover in my own home with face to face support and telephone support when appropriate. The service was excellent from kind and experienced professionals with a passion to care for people like me. I really benefited from using this crucial service that provides intervention support to individuals and families in crisis. It prevented my mental health deteriorating and set me up to start the process of recovery. I am thankful to those lovely workers who helped me through.
