On Monday, my 3yo son woke and couldn’t bear any weight on his left leg. Every time he stood, it collapsed under him. With no injury / fall, we were panicking and took him
Straight to the Children’s ED at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Glasgow.
The care we received was amazing. The pathway and staff were so efficient, and Dr Russell had such a lovely manner with our son, and allayed our fears, and calmly explained that he had irritable hip - which would hopefully settle in a few days. She gave us a full explanation of the management plan, asking for our preferences throughout.
We were so relieved that it all had such a good outcome, but felt reassured that, had it been more serious, the care would still have been excellent.
