"A genuinely caring person with a very positive attitude"

About: University Hospital Ayr / Urology

(as the patient),

I was in ayr hospital at the urology clinic, I was escorted along by a young girl Stephanie who immediately put me at ease. Stephanie answered questions I had, after being in to see the consultant I was taken by Stephanie to ultrasound.

I hadn't had the best news, seeing this Stephanie went and got my wife to come along with me I told her I was coming back in a few days for a biopsy she was very attentive and very caring towards me and my wife.

The next week I was in getting my biopsy and  she came and spoke to me and my wife in the ward and encouraged me to go my holiday and enjoy myself and relax. All I can say is the treatment, attention and empathy Stephanie showed me and my family was exceptional. It was nice to feel like you're not just a number, a genuinely caring person towards patients with a very positive attitude. Thank you.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience following your recent visits to UHA and the urology service.

I am pleased that Stephanie was there for you and your wife and was able to provide you with the support and attention during what seems to have been an extremely worrying time for you.

Your kind words regarding Stephanie makes me proud of the of all staff who are part of our organisation and who work hard to ensure that our patients receive the care they require at a time when our patients are often at their most vulnerable.

I will ensure that Stephanie receives your feedback and I am sure this will be a real boost for her.

I note that you didn't receive the best of news during your visit however I hope are keeping as well as possible.
