"Neonatal intensive care"

About: Northwick Park Hospital

Our baby was born extremely premature. Was transferred to the neonatal unit. Was impressed with the high level of staff & presence of doctors unfortunately cleanliness & presence of cleaner leave a lot to be desired. Your encouraged to do kangaroo care with your baby but this poses very difficult as it’s always very hard to find a chair & the unit lacks space, also there is far to much noise & confusion in the main ICU. Staff work very hard but the unit lacks the support for parents at a difficult time in there life’s.

All in all we we’re pleased with the care our baby received but they need to fire there cleaner & hire someone to do the job properly.

Dear Sir/Madam

Thank you for your feedback regarding the Neonatal Intensive Care unit.

I was pleased first of all to learn that you and your baby were well looked after and hope that mother and baby are doing well following your discharge home.

Your comments regarding the environment and the cleanliness of the ward are also gratefully received and we will ensure that these are shared with senior staff responsible for this area so that the issues you have raised can be reviewed and action taken where necessary.

Thank you again for taking the time to tell us your experience.

Kind regards

Peter Hare
