"Well organised, friendly, reassuring and..."

About: Poole General Hospital

What I liked

The nurses and doctors in the Winnie paediatric ward were all lovely - kind, patient, professional and reassuring - when looking after my teenage daughter (Kathryn) who was admitted recently. It was particularly appreciated as it was the first time she has been hospitalised.

The possible causes and treatments of her problem were clearly explained, and at all times there seemed to be a clear plan of action. As her parents we were kept well informed and the doctors were able to answer our questions clearly and were always happy to spend as much time with us as was needed.

A transfer to Southampton hospital mid-stay for tests/diagnosis was also handled smoothly, along with the return for treatment.

What could be improved

I saw nothing that caused me concern or I felt should be done differently.

It would have been helpful if the tests/diagnosis could have been done at Poole rather than Southampton but I understand that hospitals are bound to have different areas of speciality.

Anything else?

None, apart from thank you!
