The doctors and nurses are great, but the attituds of the Receptionists are shocking! I rarely need the doctors but with two small children we have the usual visits for jabs etc.
On a previous occasion I was there for my newborns first jabs, we were running very close to our appointment time which I do not like to do but with a newborn sometimes these things cannot be helped. I was kept waiting at the desk, despite the Receptionist not speaking to any other patient or being on the phone , so long I ended up checking in 3 minutes past the appointment time. The Receptionist told me there was no way I could be seen now and I would have to call in to rearrange the appointment.
Today I was there with my 3 and 1 year olds so my older son could get his flu vaccination. For some reason we were not called up using the board. The Receptionist very quietly called my son's name, without standing making eye contact or raising her voice, knowing full well I was around the corner from the desk near the play area with my children. When I immediately did not answer her she sent in another child instead. When I went to the desk to check what was happening she told me to go through to the nurse but refused to tell me which room despite me asking serveral times! One of the other mothers on the way out kindly told me.
I'm not sure why this is the case, or why it has not been addressed. Unfortunate really as the medical care and management generally is very good.
