My mum has been in hospital for 4 weeks. Has hardly eaten enough to keep a gnat alive. Is not drinking enough fluids as she cant pick anything up as she is too weak most of the time.
Patient next to her got told off for passing her drinks/tissues. My mum's blood pressure was low when she arrived - around 93/39 on average - but she is still dehydrated and i believe lacking in food too as she refuses to eat, so surely this is dangerous long term?
She used to suffer hypertension. She now has hypotension so she was taken off her tablets. She has had bucket loads of plasma/saline/antibiotics and she is no better. She can't move her lower limbs at all unless you want a very feeble toe wave.
I feel she is being neglected as the care she is having in hospital is not enough. She has a catheter in, keeps asking me what day it is, and they want to let her out when my dad is about to have an aortic valve replacement.
PS: he is supposed to be the carer at present. A and E at Good Hope are fab by the way. My mum isn't.
