I went to my doctor in September 2011 as I had pins and needles in my right arm and hand, i also had severe pain in my neck.
I had tried acupuncture, sports massage, chiropractors and muscle manipulation to no avail. My doctor referred me to Lincolnshire muscoskeletal who gave me a MRI scan where they discovered i had a slipped disc and two bone spurs.
My condition got worse and i had to give up work at the beginning of November as i was getting dizzy spells and could not grip with my right hand. I could not move my neck at all, also feeling was starting to go in my left hand.
I went to see Mr Kamat, from the One Health group, who told me i needed surgery. From the start he put me at ease and told me exactly what he would be doing in the operation, he also answered all of my questions and told me of any side effects that may happen.
In December i went to the Thornbury hospital in Sheffield for my op. I was greeted and taken up to my room where Mr Kamat came to see me and yet again put me at ease (thankyou). Also the anaesthetist saw me, i went for my op and when i woke i could not believe i had only slight discomfort and no pain. I didn't realise how much pain i had been in until it was gone.
It has now been seven weeks since the operation and the movement i now have is unbelievable. I can move my head like i used to and i have no pain. The treatment i received at Thornbury with the doctors and nurses was second to none, they could not do enough for you. They were there for any questions and answered them, i felt relaxed before and after surgery. The staff were extremely friendly with a fantastic caring nature.
"Please with results of my surgery"
