We were attending A & E with a poorly baby. The receptionist was bad tempered, made no effort to help us quickly and continued to drink her drink while slowly booking us in. Then she pointed is vaguely in the direction of another door and told us to go in that direction - but the door was locked and the receptionist left her desk before I could ask how to get in. We had to wait until someone came out before we could get into the children's A & E - yes, with our poorly baby. As the first point of contact I'll never understand how receptionists are allowed to be so rude. We were already stressed and this nearly made me cry.
I'm glad to say that once we got in to the department, everyone was lovely and we were looked after very well by all the hard working doctors and nurses.
"Nice medical staff - horrible receptionist"
