After first being spoken to and advised by a sympathetic triage nurse, I was given an appointment the same morning to see the GP, who with great patience and care allowed me the time to try and explain the reason for my visit. I was tearful and feeling low, but just by being allowed to express my concerns to a friendly face outside of work and family came as a great relief. The practical advise that was given was logical, even though I had already told it to myself many times, being able to sit in the surgery and have someone really hear my concerns gave me the push I needed to make a change.
