"Abysmal"

About: Cross Hills Group Practice

I have lived in the area for 16 years and have had call to use this practice on 5 occasions. Each event has been fraught with rude attitude, incorrect appointments, untrained nurses, poor punctuality, and just general unpleasantness.

My first 2 appointments were for private healthcare referrals, the way I was spoken to and subsequently dealt with, was atrocious. Initially, the GP, who was clearly anti private healthcare, wrote a very damning and misleading report to the insurers, clearly the claim was rejected but subsequently overturned after complaint.

The second just found the results filed under NFA despite the findings being sufficient, under private healthcare, to operate. The reasoning given was that the findings didn’t meet NHS standards to operate and they didn’t bother to check if it was a private referral.

My third exposure to this incompetence was seeing the nurse. She was late, joked about it, had not completed this minor surgery before and was unsupervised. Needless to say, it didn’t go well and the wound would not heal due to the implant protruding by 2mm!!!. Desperate measures and all that, I inserted the implant further in and taped up the incision to prevent it coming back out.

My penultimate was a debacle booking an appointment for referral to X-ray. I spoke with the receptionist at length and was told I needed to see the Physio. I agreed and saw the physio who did nothing but take notes and then tell me he would be referring me to another physio and asking me to make another app my with the doctor for referral to X-ray. What a waste of time.

I am currently sat in the surgery having had my latest appointment moved from Tuesday to today (which I don’t mind) because whoever booked the appointment for Tues booked it with the wrong nurse.

It’s just layers of incompetence and money wasting. So, having sat here for 30 mins having still not been called, I’m taking my minimal healthcare elsewhere. I just can’t stand this attitude and ineptitude any longer.
