"The palliative care team were wonderful"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Ear, Nose & Throat (Ward 11b) Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Palliative Care

(as a relative),

My cousin was admitted to QEUH Level 2 ENT in Sept 18.  She was very quickly diagnosed as terminally ill and stayed there until her death in October.  Her care was amazing. Every member of staff on the ward was outstanding , event the tea ladies who kept us supplied with tea.

Having never been in the hospital before and having heard both positive and negative comments, I can say that everything was positive.

The Palliative Care Team were wonderful, both to my cousin and to the family.

Keep up the good work. You are all stars

We also used paramedics to get to the hospital who were wonderful.

Thank you

Thank you for your kind feedback orangegh39. I know the ward teams try very hard to provide good quality end of life care, so I am glad to hear things went as well as possible in a sad situation.

I will be sure to pass on your thanks to the doctors and nurses in the team, as well as the ward staff - it is very much appreciated. I hope you and your family are doing well. If we can be of any further assistance please let me know.

Dear Orangegh39

Please accept my condolences on the loss of your cousin.

I am heartened to hear about your cousin’s care and that every member of staff on the ward was wonderful. I am also pleased that you felt the family were cared for, as the care of relatives in a palliative care situation is also incredibly important.

Thank you so much for your kind words regarding the staff.

Take Care

Julie Ann Rodger

Senior Charge Nurse
