About: George Eliot Hospital - Acute Services

(as the patient),

So it was my third visit at this hospital. First visit I arrived on time even a bit earlier(as you always do), needed to be there at 10:30, been seen by a doctor at about 10:50. Another visit, arrived on time, seen by a nurse after 40min of waiting and then seen by a doctor after another 40 min of waiting.

Did not say anything, because this can happen to everyone.

Now third visit, I was late, 20 min,the convergence of several unfortunate circumstances(I live in Coventry,do not drive, I have explained that to a doctor).

When I walked in the doctor did not even realize that Im late(I think), I apologized, explained what happened.

They were just rude and everything they said was just too far and too much. They complained that I was late, and carried on after I apologized again, suggesting that I catch an earlier bus. Again explained where I live and that there is just one bus I can catch because this one lets me get there faster then others etc.

After the diagnosis, we came back to the fact that I was late. The doctor told me they knew more about my situation than me because they use the bus between hospitals, and when at the bus stop I should check how many is stopping here.

Again needed to explain where I live and that only one of these buses is ok for me.

I could not take that anymore so I apologized again and said that this is my first visit, Im late first time and that last time I needed to wait almost 2 hours to be seen. Did not say anything and just asked me how I feel etc.

I thought that we will not speak about me being late again, well. The doctor then asked a lot of questions about whether I drive, trying to encourage me to start as they found their own driving essential so I would find it the same.

So do they drive or use public transport?

Then a very condescending booking of next week's appointment.

Terrible experience, difficult to explain, it was that bizzare and uncomfortable.
