What I liked

I was diagnosed with breast cancer last summer and so I went to the Treatment centre for my operation with some trepidation. I must say that I found the nursing team in the ward very caring and cannot praise the Consultant surgeon enough. They were very jovial, friendly and put me at ease and did an absolutely brilliant lumpectomy. Although quite a large area was removed, the consultant performed the op so that no scars show and it is even not at all obvious that I have had a operation. The surgeon was absolutely brilliant even my GP was amazed.

What could be improved

Aftercare was something to be desired. I telephoned the Breast Care Nurses on several occasions and always had to leave a message on their answerphone. The response to reply was very slow, often the next day!
