"Ask my gp system good but doctors so far not..."

About: Concord Medical Centre

i have been with this surgery for a year now. I like the ask my gp system and have never had a problem with it and always been seen when needed.

I don’t like tho how I get made to feel when visiting a gp. A few times now I have left upset and felt not listened too.

I also have a chorionic illness that I understand many find hard to help but get no support what so ever even when requesting simple test that just makes sure everything is normal still.

I feel most don’t diagnose it’s always see how you get on and come back in two weeks if still an issue with no real answer.

I also Didn’t get results and had to contact and ask myself tho was told they would let me know.

On a positive I have so far met one gp that has tried to help with a few issues I have but when requesting to see that gp or speak to them through the ask my gp system I have had another doctor call me or see me which isn’t what I wanted. This surgery has no gp consistency so have to go over everything with different gps.

We are very sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the service you have received with us. Staff work hard to listen to patients properly and to have honest discussions with them about their medical care, so it is disappointing that you have left appointments feeling as though you have not been listened to. Upon contacting the practice, including via askmyGP, patients have the option of specifying whether they would rather see a specified doctor. If a medical problem requires a doctor’s input that day and patients’ preferred doctor is unavailable, then another doctor will need to contact them about the problem. Whilst this does mean that patients will not always speak with their preferred doctor, it ensures no medical problem is left for longer than is safe. Thank you for your comments about askmyGP and it is good to hear that you find contacting us this way effective. If you would be happy to discuss your feedback in more detail please contact Bex Loveys, Patient Services Manager, via phone or via e-mail at rebecca.loveys@nhs.net.
