I believe I got better despite - not because of - the cove. It was a clinical, lonely, restrictive and distressing environment, where you hardly ever were given 1:1 support unless you were screaming and harming yourself. I remember having a crisis and being told to be quiet as I was disturbing other patients, and then left by myself with no support. I was left alone for extended periods of time where i put myself in danger, and i believe I would have been safer at home. As a result of going, I am now working through more trauma than I had to begin with.
While there were exceptions, and the psychologist there was incredible, i wouldn't recommend it at all.
