On 2/11/18 my son developed severe lower abdominal pain. After contacting NHS 111 to triage the problem, which I suspected as Appendicitis given the speed at which it increased and the location, NHS 111 directed me to contact From Medical Practice for an emergency appointment.
I called 111 at 11.46am, and I want in front of the emergency Doctor and treated by 1.30pm.
The Dr addressed my son directly, brining me in as an anxious parent only when I was needed. He used humour and an open manner to assess my son, Jospeh's symptom's properly - which can be difficult with a child, at any age.
The Dr suspected appendicitis also, but after careful investigation with Joseph and an on-site urine test, and I believe consulting surgeons, he advised that Joseph was badly constipated and to keep an eye on him, drink lots of water.
From a boy crying in severe pain to a calm, happy boy within a couple of hours, I would like to compliment the Dr, Frome Medical Practice and the 111 service for seeing us quickly and diagnosing so intelligently.
This Dr is a credit to you, and understood my reason for brining Joseph in given the symptoms, and kept me at ease, stating that it was not a waste of time. Better to be safe than sorry, I guess.
Thank you all, please pass my thanks on to the Dr. One happy patient and received parent here, you kept my son safe.
