Was in unbearable pain with a dental nerve infection, waited hours for a follow up call from a 'clinician' despite calling them again, was advised A&E wouldn't do anything and was given a contact number for Emergency dentist and was assured that I would be seen that evening, queried this and was advised yes it is an emergency dentist and they will see me, called emergency NHS dentist and again waited 2 hours for a call back despite ringing them 2 further times and they had also taken my number down wrong (fortunately I had been chasing them and corrected this in one of the calls) - when they eventually called I was advised that no a dentist would not see me as they'd gone home, and all I could have was advice.
If both 111 and the NHS dentist I was recommended by 111 had acted and answered in a reasonable and responsible time I would have been seen before the dentists finished.
My initial call to 111 was 7pm, my final call with dentist was 10.50 pm.
If I was a dog I could have got better and swifter treatment from a Vet.
Appreciate NHS funds are tight but this is a disgrace.
