About: William Harvey Hospital (Ashford)

We found some staff at the William Harvey Hospital to be quite rude and unhelpful. At one point I was insulted by a nurse who said I wasn’t doing a very good job at cuddling my baby (which is very hard to do when they have multiple tubes and wires on them). I asked another nurse for a bed as the one in the room we were staying in was sticky and disgusting and she made some sarcastic comment. The ‘Parents Room’ had next to nothing in it and inside the cupboards were filthy as well as the carpet being badly stained and sticky. The staff had no respect for our privacy at all. Out of the 4 days we stayed, I recall only ONCE someone knocking before entering. The staff weren’t happy to look after our baby for 10 minutes or so whilst we went and sourced food for ourselves, at no point was food offered to us at all leaving us in a very difficult position.

The previous week I had been at the Conquest with my baby and I honestly think WHH need to take a leaf out of their book. I would not recommend the William Harvey to anyone based on recent experience here.
