"Emergency admission with norovirus"

About: Chesterfield Royal Hospital / Accident and emergency

Was admitted to CRH with bad case of norovirus + c. diff. which struck sudeenly during a day trip to the Peak from Norfolk. Nothing but praise for the staff at Walton Hospital (which was as far as I could drive) who initially treated me, arranged transfer to CRH for myself and companion quickly, and then all staff at CRH (EMU) who looked after me for 4 days. The friendliness and genuine concern of the staff and the quality of their care are outstanding which matters a lot when you're a long way from home and completely incapacitated. Most impressed by the knowledge and humanity of the doctors: no old-fashioned cold-blooded consultants in evidence here. I've been familiar with hospitals for 4 decades, and this is one of the best.
