About: National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery - Queen Square / Neurosurgery

We were given a booklet when my mum was admitted.. So according to your rules of the hospital or this ward are.... Visiting times/ Visiters allowed..

If it’s says 2per bed then why are there some people having 6/7 at a time with no regard for the noise they make while very sick people lay just the other side of a curtain... Children in prams crying with again no regard for patients.. And then when we visited my mum the day after her surgery she tells us that at 4am in the morning the lady in the next bed took a phone call and then the next min her partner was allowed to come and see her in the middle of the night... Why would a man be allowed in a ward with 5 sick women in the middle of the night while they sleep for the women to be discharged the following day.... How is this allowed to happen???

So lady is discarded while we were there and a deep clean of the bed was carried out in front of 4people... so do you think spending less than 5 minutes with 2 people using the hand gel that’s at the bottom of each bed acceptable as a deep clean for every piece of equipment in that bay.. ie bed/pillows/tables/draws/etc etc..we could not believe what we witnessed.. Infection must be such a priority would you not think.. So I feel this has to be drawn to your attention... This unit in the Name Of Molly Lane Fox all its staff the consultants/ Nurses and people who have made so much effort and raised money for this unit be let down in such away that it needs to addressed.. My mums care has been second to non.. This is not a hotel where you can do as you as you please.. Sick people should be given the respect to be able to rest and get well without this disgusting behavior.. Everyone should have a phone on silent where there own earphones where possible so the other patients don’t need to listen to a film 12oclock at night by another patient 3beds away.. So there’s are just a few things we have witnessed in our stay..
