"Son's recent stay in Ward 5A"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Ear, Nose & Throat

(as a parent/guardian),

My 18 year old was admitted to Ward 5A last Friday for a couple of nights due to significant pain and inability to swallow -? Tonsillitis / glandular fever. He was miserable and sore on admission. The care he received from the team was great. He thought the nurse were 'class' and I really appreciated the nurses allowing me to pop in early to see him on the Saturday...regardless of their age when your child is sick you want to be there for them...thanks

I respond initially to most of the posts and ensure they are passed to the appropriate team whether they are compliments, observations or grumbles. It is important to make sure all issues are addressed and I try to encourage that to happen for all the posts as required.

Dear Relieved mom,

I totally agree with you, your 'child' is always your child and of course you want to be there for them. My 'child' is 33 and I would be the same. (33, did I admit that in the public arena?)

I will be very pleased to pass your post to the team and I am sure they will be as delighted as I was to read it.

Thank you so much for taking time to share this on Care Opinion. I hope your son is fully recovered now,

best wishes,

Eunice
