My son suffered a severe epileptic seizure last week. We called an ambulance which arrived in minutes. The care given and reassurance provided was exemplary. The paramedic team was a student (Ewan) and his assessor (sorry didn't catch his name). They realised my son was in decline and got him to A&E under blue light. We were met by a full team of Consultants, anaesthetists, doctors and nurses (I counted 16 staff). All of them were solely concerned about his welfare and stabilising his condition. I can't thank their efforts and reassurance enough. Once they managed to stop the seizures he was taken into the High Dependency Unit within the Children's Ward. Again the staff were so attentive and supportive - we were overwhelmed by their help. The follow up with the Epilepsy team with Laura in particular providing her unique positive outlook as well as guidance and welcomed humour to what had been an extremely stressful previous 24 hours. We really can't thank all concerned enough for bringing our son back from a grave situation.
