I had a total right knee replcement at Grantham Hospital.
My treatment by everyone was not far short of 5 star hotel. All staff were friendly, nothing was too much trouble. You could have a good laugh & joke with them all.New knee was brilliant, just carried on from where i had left off.
Unfortunately 4 weeks after having new knee, i developed an infection in it. Going straight back to Grantham A&E.
Once again the treatment & the time scale bearing in mind it was a Saturday afternoon was brilliant.
I was transfered to Lincoln. Once again the care & treatment on both the Shuttleworth & NeoStadt Welton was brilliant.
How ever it upsets me how much money I feel is literally going down the drain with in the NHS.
On the Shuttleworth ward there was a hand basin in a toilet where the hot tap on the hand basin was running all the time & had been for a while as the basin was stained.
When i was moved to the NeoStadt Weltton Ward the same thing. I was put in side room 7. The hand basin in the bed area, once again the tap was dripping badly. In the en-suite bathe room, the toilet was overflowing (flush cistern has built in overflow in it so it was going straight down the W.C pan. Money going straight down the drain.
