"Ophthalmology Department"

I attended eye A & E in early September for the first time, when I was diagnosed with tears in both retinas , with the right eye at high risk of retinal detachment. I had laser treatment then and there despite the fact it was already well into the evening.

Since then I have required two further laser treatments and attended the department quite a few times.

On each occasion I have found the receptionists to be welcoming and helpful, the nurses to be kind and reassuring and the doctors professional, courteous and considerate, each examination was thorough and felt unrushed.

On some of the visits I have had to wait some time but I appreciate this is a very busy A and E department and some patients need to be seen more urgently than others.

I would like to thank everyone who works in this amazingly busy and efficient department.
