"Poor Management"

About: Sevenoaks Hospital

Attended today with my granddaughter, 28th October, and waited one and a half hours to be seen. In that time only one other person was called to be seen. Staff attitude unhelpful and information board misleading. Will be making a formal complaint.

Hello

We are very sorry that you were unhappy with your experience of Sevenoaks Minor Injuries Unit on 28 October and that you and your granddaughter had to wait a long time to be seen.

We immediately notified the Clinical Team Leader of your review and she has spoken to staff who were working on Sunday.

Firstly she would like to apologise that you found the staff unhelpful. They have been reminded of the importance of being polite at all times and keeping the information board up to date.

Unfortunately the unit had minimal staffing on Sunday. During the morning a couple of patients attended that were very poorly and required immediate attention. They were then sent to A&E by ambulance which caused a delay in seeing other patients and increased waiting times. Also over the lunchtime period only one practitioner was available to see patients as the other practitioner was needed to cover reception.

Apologies again for the inconvenience this caused and please do not hesitate to contact PALS if you would like to raise any further issues with the Clinical Team Leader.

Best wishes
