"A reassuring improvement in service."

I was first referred to this clinic in June, 2017, having struggled without proper support for a long time. I was quite severely unwell and very distressed. Unfortunately, due to obvious problems (I won't elaborate) I had very bad initial experiences which left me feeling a lot worse and, frankly, hopeless! For example, the consultant I initially saw told me to smile and count my blessings as he had other people to see!

However, things seems to have improved a lot this year. i now have a new consultant who is not only pleasant, upbeat (without trying to jolly me along), is not patronising, treats me like a normal, intelligent person and takes the time to actually get to know me. This consultant has also been carefully adjusting my meds to find the right balance and has also organised some therapy.

I feel very grateful for proper help at last and am starting to feel hopeful that life may be worth living after all.

Firstly, I am sorry to hear that you have previously had bad experiences of the service. The team are available for you to discuss these concerns if you so wish. It is great to hear that you are now feeling more hopeful and that things are improving. Best Wishes with your continued recovery”.
