About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Renal and Transplant Services (Ward 4a, 4d)

(as a service user),

We would just like to acknowledge the wonderful team in Ward 4A. My young cousin was transferred to 4A for emenrgency dialysis following admission for sepsis during a period of treatment for ovarian cancer. 

Sadly she deteriorated very rapidly and was not fit for dialysis. The medical team (Emily and Matthew) were extremely compassionate when delivering this news to the family including her young son. The nursing staff did everything to ensure she was very settled and pain free in her final hours and also ensured that we were very well supported at a very difficult time. 

So thankful for everything they done and makes me very proud to be a nurse.

I am sorry to hear that your cousin has passed away; please accept my condolences on your loss.

This must be an emotional and distressing time for everyone. Staff will appreciate that you are able to express words of praise under these difficult circumstances.

I hope that the care and compassion your cousin received gave you some comfort in the knowledge that staff did everything they could to make her comfortable.

I will ensure that your post is shared with everyone who was looking after your cousin; they will be touched by your thoughtfulness.

My thoughts are with you and your family and I wish you the very best for your future.
