"Whipps Cross Maternity - poor service all round..."

This happened over 2 years ago, but it still mars what should have been a wonderful event.

There was blood on the ceiling and curtains, and the window didn't shut so the birthing room was cold.

The midwife was difficult, and didn't listen to us; tried to manipulate us into a position that best suited her, not the mother. Told us she had never supervised a birth with the mother not on her back.

Nurses insisted that mother and baby stay overnight, but then we waited all day the next day for the paediatrician so we could all go home. They never came so we discharged ourselves, but this also took 2 hours!
